A strong detachment of police guarded the meat market, but the mob surged into the Stalls, and the supply of Argentine meat was quickly sold out at led per lb. Australian meat brought Is lOd. The people are clamouring for further supplies. The united efforts of the police were required to erect barricades to control the mob. Restaurants arc serving Argentine meat as a delicacy.
