ACQUITTAL OF LE NEVE. By Electric Telegraph.—Copyright. (Received Oct. 26, 8.5 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 25. Miss Le Neve, who was charged with being accessory after tho fact to tho murder of Mrs. Crippen, has been acquitted. CHARGE AGAINST LB NEVE. . CONTEMPT OF COURT. (Received Oct. 26, 10.50 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 25. Lo Neve was charged with assisting Crippen to escape, having guilty knowledge and guilty intentions. Mf. F. K. Smith, appearing for accused, contended that the prosecution had ’not proved guilty knowledge, and did not call evidence. The jury, after a brief absence, returned a verdict of not guilty. Donald, editor of tho Chronicle, was charged with contempt of court in publishing a statement that Crippen had confessed. Donald was proved to bo 4way on a holiday when tho statement appeared, but the court fined Perriss, assistant-editor, £2OO and costs. Judge Darling said the publication was calculated to prejudice the trial, and it was grave contempt to publish idle gossip. Ho was not prepared to substitute trial by newspaper for trial by jury. _____
