THE KNYVETT CASE.

AUCKLAND’S INDIGNATION. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, Feb. 14. Another public indignation meeting in connection with the Knyvctt caso was held to-night in His Majesty’s Theatre, which was packed to overflowing. Mr. C. J. Parr presided, and the following resolution was; carried “That this mooting views with regret and indignation the decision of the Government to adhere td the grossly just sentence passed upon Captain Knyvqtt with respect to charges against which he has not been allowed a proper opportunity of defending himself, which have never been proved, and for which, if they had been proved, the punishment is out of all proportion to the offence.” A resolution was also carried urging that a Royal Commission be appointed to inquire into the- administration of the Defence Department.
