LONDON, Nov. 12. : Wheat.— The markets are firm, upon I stronger American advices of a rumour 'regarding frosts, in the Argentine but {are inactive. Australian is quoted at i 42s 6d to 43s 6d, sailer* October 41s, new ;crop December-January shipment »»; ! January-February 37s 9d. Februaryj March 37s 2id, parcels of DecemberJanuary 38s. Flour is steady but- quiet. Australian is quoted in London at 31s, ex |* Oats.— The La Plate January-Feb-I mary shipment is quoted a$ 14s l*a. ' Butter.— There is a strong demand 1 for the best buttera. Salted is quoted at. 112s to 114s with an occasional 116s, tinsalted 116s to 118s, secondaries 106s to HOs, the Paparoa's butter which is landing 118s, and Danish 130s to 1325. A conference of the leading butter and rabbit importers' agenta expressed anxiety at the result of the strike and said possibly the* lessening of supplies would be followed by the marketing of accumulated stocks, though most of the c,i.f. contracts would contain a strike clause. The results of delaying shipments would be disastrous. Copper.— On spot. £58 3s 9d, three months £69 16s 9cL Lead.— The imports total 15,750 tons of which Australia sent 3857 tons. The exports total 3377 tons. Iron 60s llsd. , - Sugar is -firm with a speculative market owing to the less favourable crop reports from France. German is quoted at 12s, first mirks 13a 9d. Bradford— The wool market is dull. Top makers have advanced the present and future Quotations a farthing, but business is limited.
