THE HOSPITALS BILL.

(Continued from Page 1.) Per Press Association WELLINGTON, Nov. 13. After midnight, during the debate on the Hospitals and Charitable Institutions Bill on clause 62, Mr. Russell objected to tlie proviso that no new institution should be established or other structural alteration costing over £100, without notice in writing to the Minister, and moved to delete the same. On a division being taken the | amendment was lost, by 29 votes to 28. On the suggestion of Sir Wm. Steward the amount sin- the clause was altered from £Vm to £250, with the concurrence of tHfe Minister. Mr. Allan moved to amend clause 64 in the direction of substituting "board" for "inspector general" as the authority whose chlty it is to decide what provision is neoefesary in regard to persons suffering from infectious diseases. The Hon. Mr. Fowlds said the clause was' intended to prevent boards from failing to make the nccowiar.v provision in such .cases, which had paused consideiable trouble in many districts. The amendment was rejected by 82 votes to 20. • At 12.60 the Minister reported progress and the House rose.
