A GUILDHALL INCIDENT.
HYSTERICAL WOMEN.

Amelia Brown, described as being of no occupation, and Alice Paul, a student, were fined £5 and costs, or a month's imprisonment, for breaking a window at the Guildhall. They obtained admission as charwomen, and participated in preparing a room for the Lord Mayur's banquet. They concealed themselves and afterwards were found to be in possession of a bottle of milk and a stomach pump, which they intended to present to the Premier (Mr. Asquith) as an illustration of the forcible feeding methods adopted in respect of some of the imprisoned suffragettes. An, alderman severely commented upon their hysterical tactics in rhexcusably damaging a historic building.
