POLLARD'S JUVENILE OPERA . \ COMPANY. "MANOLA" TO-NIGHT. Lovers of legitimate comic opera will nave their wants catered for to-night, when Mr. Pollard will produce for the first time here Leoooq's delightful comic opera "Manola." This is the latest addition to the "Pollardian" repertoire, tad, judging by contemporary criticism, it is going to turn out one of the com* pany's greatest successes. The cast •rill introduce all the old favourites, besides several new faces. "Miss Minnie Topping will be seen in the name part, while Miss Madeline Knight will make her first appearance here in the role of "Beatrix." The difficult character >f "Don Calabasar" will give Mr. Charles Albert another opportunity of showing his remarkable versatility. Miss O'Keefe. Jack Willis and the other principals will be seen in congenial parts. Playgoers are familiar with the high standard of the "Pollard" proJuctioiis, bo that when we learn that Mr. Pollard considers this as being' the best thing he has ever placed before his patrons something out of the common m gorgeous spectacle may be expected. A novel feature of the production will be "The March of the Pages" in the second act. ■ Judging by the booking to-night's audience should be a record one. On Monday night the attraction will be Bucalossi's famous French opera bouffe "The Black Cloaks," one of the most melodious and laughter-provoking of all light operas. WEST'S PICTURES. The very unfavourable climatic conditions prevailing last night had the: effect on the attendance at the weekly entertainment of West's Pictures in the Theatre Royal. The programme was, up to the usual high standard of West's and was keenlyl appreciated by those present. The film entitled "Drink" was the star of the evening, and the unfolding of this powerful drama was followed with great interest. Another particularly fine picture was that depicting a winter scene in a Canadian lumber camp. West's Pictures return neit Friday evening, when an entirely fresh programme will be submitted.
