LEPPERTON.

(From Our Own Correspondent.) A social and dance was held in the above hall on Thursday, October 7, and as a social success it could, not be surpassed. Songs were contributed by Miss K. Dodd, Mr. A. Churchill and Mr. L. Henwood, and a recitation by Mr. B. Luke, and were reoeived with evident pleasure by the company present. Mr. Harris also gave many selections on the phonograph. The points prizes were won by Mr. A. Sampson, a set of razors, and Mrs. F. Sampson, a tea set. Mr. A. Roberts, in a neat speech, explained that £18 had heen taken through the season, while the expenses totalled £12, leaving £6 to go towards paying off t&e debt on the hall. Mr. A. Roberts Also tendered his sincere thanks to Mr. and Mrs. Merrin for the able manner in which they had helped the thing along. Refreshments were then handed round. The duties of M.C. Were efficiently carried out tyr Mr. A. Roberts and Mr. F. Crowe. The dancing floor was in perfect' order and the music supplied ay Miss B. Henwood (piano), assisted by Mr. S. Henwood (flageolette), with a few extras by Miss A. Dodd and Mrs. F. Sampson, was of the best.* The last dance ended at about 2.80 a.m.,. the company then departing with the pleasant feelings that follow a well | spent evening.
