A LICENSE REFUSED

Per Press Association. " CHRISTCHI'RCH, Juno 11. The Licensing Committee granted 44 renew als, but held over two. The Selwyn committee had an application before it for an hotel license at Mount Somers, but refused it. Mount Somers was a portion of the Ashburton electorate during no-license there, but in tho last re-adjustment it was included in Selwyn. The committee felt it had no power to increase the number of licenses in Selwyn.
