NEW PLYMOTTH OLUR
The annual meeting ot the New Plvnioiith Homing Pigeon t'liil) was held at tin 1 dub rooms on Wediu'sdav evening '1 here w a.s a full attendance ot members. Mr. G. A. Corney (president) occupied tho chair. The annual report was presented by tho secretary (Mr. V. H. Beal). It stated that the past year had been the nio&t successful since the- club's inception, both financially nnd also from a racing standpoint. Thirty-three rnces had been flown during the past season, compared with 28 last year. Seven races had been flown on tho north route", with a total of 1123 miles, nnd kf> on tho soiitli rottte, w ith a total of .316(5 miles, making a total of 4289 miles flown for the season, compared with 3343 miles last season. A fresh record had been established during tho year, the race from Timarn being the longest distance yet accomplished. The race from Russell on the north route was also flown in good time. One extra t vent had been added to the programme, this being an interval race iioiii Auckland for the Hagger trophy. The race- was won by Mr. G. A. Cor?;ev. Iho champion cup for old birds v. as, won by Mr. E. Ward from Petone, the Derby Cup by, Mr. V. H. Beal fiom Marton, OaMfe Clip by Mr. H. Moverley from Marton, and the young turds champion cup by Mr. B. Bayly from Wanganui. The aggregate trophy foi most points scored tor the season was won by Mr. V. H. Beal. During the year the club had purchased a new '■interval box," which was in good order for the coming season. Tbo club wns in a sound financial position, the balance sheet showing a very satisfactory credit which would provide handsome prizes for tho long-distance races next season. I.n conclusion, the seeretarv tendered his thanks to the members for the support accorded him during the year, and expressed tho hope that next year Dunedin would be sucei*, fully flown by the old birds. 'I he balance sheet showed total receipts amounting to £52 0s 6d, and expenditure £36 18s sd, leaving a credit balance of £15 2s Id.
'J J'p report and balance shoot were adopted. The prizes gained by the members we'o presented, ajid the secretary was voted stn honorarium of £3 3s. Meml)oi \ referred in complimentary terms to the admirable manner in which Mr. Be.i l always carried ont his duties, 'I 1.0 election of officers resulted as follows:— President, Mr. G.
