The Council resumed at 2.30. It was decided to agrca to the amendment brought in by Governor's Message in the slining Act Amendment Bill. The Attorney-General moved the second reading of the Education Bill, which, was carried on the voices, and the Bill passed its final stages. The Public Works Act Amendment Bill Mas oominittcd. Clause 10 (which provides that the Governor may, by Order-in- Council, consent to tho stopping of roads along a river on being satisfied lhat the road has become unfit for general use, and that another road has been provided in its place) was rejected by 19 votes to 10. At clause 14, Mr Carnoross moved, that section 14 shall omly apply to the Solwyn County.— Carried by 19 to 5, The Bill was reported as amended, read a third time, and passed.
