There were offers to take 4 to 1 about the Cuiressier gelding for the cross-country event, but 3 to 1 •was the best quotation forthcoming from the pencillers. For the double, Great Northern Steeplechase and Northern National Hurdles, the two Cavalieros is quoted at 16 to 1 ; the two Waiweras, Cavaliero and Tirea, and the Guard and Tirea are the other doubles most, in favour with By the Ngapuhi which arrived totfay in the Manukau, the following horses were brought up to fulfil their Ellerslie engagements :— The Guard, Gobo, Ostiak, Laureate, Waiwera, and Frost, .THE ENGLISH DERBY.
