Personal Notes.
The Wagga Wagga Advertiser record's tho df ath on March 12th of fr'rs Martha Lakeman, relict of the late Mr William Lakeman, in her 94th year. Mrs Lakeman was a native of Exeter, and was married there in 1840. Immediately afterwards she accompanied her husband to New Zealand, arriving at Taranaki with the iata Mr F. A. Carrington and h'.& survey staff in the Brougham on February 11th, 1841. After some years residence at New Plymouth the couplo went to Australia, settling at Wagga Wagga, where Mr Lakeman died eight years ago, in his 86 th year. They had a family, of five children— one son and four daughters, the former being at one time representative for Hay in the New South Wales Parliament and now a resident of Sydney.
