FOOTBALL.
The Stratford Club held ita annual meeting on Tuesday} night. The following clause is from/ the annual report :< — "In the senior contest! combination again' tofd its tale'wi.h the wearers of the red and black, for though they ' started the season/ very creditably they had to suffer defeat when they bumped up against* trained men." In the junior contest the Club bad the distinction of furnishing; the junior champion team of Tamnaki. The credit bolanco in hand was £5 ss. A If. Bayly was elected delegate to the Union, and E. B. Stohr secretary. Amongst the new members are O'Dowda, Beckett and Wyldc-Brown. P. S. Pollock vice-president, is presenting a. flag} to the> Club,, and Mr Kleine &> gold medal, valued at two guineas, toi ,tne best forward player.
