LFKOM OUlt OWN COn-RESPOHDENT.J Tnixcis have been going on very quietly here lately. Tho dry weather is telling on the milk supply. The cows arc only giving a little over half what they were The crops are ripening very fast. Thu Road Board, I believe, intend to take proceedings against all those who do not grub or cut down all blackberry and furze on the roads, in front of their -property. The contractor, Mr Cameron, is getting on with his contract of metalling on the Koru-Plymouth Road. The settlers in that locality will have a good road for next winter. The district is very quiet, but I believo the school picnic is to come oft: soon ; and another euchre party during those warm evenings would pa<ss away one enjoyable evening, and I would be glad to sec one soon. The Road Board has adopted tho Loan Act of 1899, and readjusted the loan to 4J per cent per annum.
