A THIRD CONTINGENT FUND.
Niav Plymouth sent two volunteers to tho Tr tnsvaal Avith the second contingent, and soveral others are ready to leave Avith the third. Contributions as under have already been made for tho purpose of supplying the tAvo Avho haA'e gone with thoroughly reliable horses, and subscriptions for the purpose of equipping thosa Avho folloAV Avill be gladly received at the office of this paper, and -will bo duly acknoAvledged from time to time :—: —
The following sums are already in hand to be doA-oted oxclusiA'ely to the equipment of the Taranaki men Avho join the Rough-riders Contingent. £ s. d.
This fund Avill nob in any Avay interfere or .clash Avith the fund being r.iisod by tho Mayor, but is intended to supplement it for tho exclusive purpose, liowovcr, of providing horses and equipment for | Taranaki men.
He is " An Absent-minded Beggar" avlio shuts his eyes (to uso a metaphor) Avhen tho contribution box for the Patriotic Fund is passed round.
