NEW ZEALAND'S FOURTH CONTINGENT.
[Pf E PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Dunkdin, Febnnry 3. —Mr Seddon suggests Saturday, March 3, as" the date of embarkation of tho fourth contingent from Port Chalmers, comprising 300 men of which the Otago and Southland section form a part. The Imperial Government was cabled to-dvy asking the War Office to forward a transport ship. The Star states authentically that there is no intention of convening Parliament, as suggested at some public meetings. The amounts for the contingents will be taken from un mlhorisod expenditure, and when Parliament meets in June a vote will be asked to meet all expenses. Tho cost to the colony of sending the contingents is £1400 weekly, reprosonfing tho ditferenco between the rates of Imperial and colonial pay-
