Original Jubilee Singers.
At the Theatre Royal this evening the above company will begin its season of three nights. The nama of the "Jubilee Singers " has now become world-wide, and it is with the cordbinition which opens tosnight that ib i 3 more particularly associated. T^ese bweet songsters have ever proved an undeniable attraction, both from the merit and quaintness of their performances, which always appeal alike to the cultured musician and the ordinary individual. Speaking of a recent performance, the Melbourne Argus sajs : -"Th 9 continuous applause and the many recalls showed that the relish for the sweet, rollicking, and at times grotesque, negro melodteshas not diminished, for undoubtedly the choruses were more heartily received thin on tbe previou-3 visit. Ihe pleasing harmonies, the variations in light and shade form the peculiar charm of these melodies, and tha ' audience were soon completely under the spell." There is no doubt thad the compiny will be heartily supported during its New Plymouth season.
