DATE OF NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES. Nominations for all handicaps must be in the hands of the Secretiry at the Waitara Hotel on Wednesday, October I 13th not later than 9 p.m., accompanied with the name, *ge, pedigree, colors and performances of horse. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Handicaps appear on Thursday/October 21st. Acceptances and general entries on Wedneiday, Ostoher 27th, except for Welter, which "cwptances are due after the Clifton Stakes. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Definition of a Hack. — A hack means a borsvj that has never won an advertised race of any description (Hack, Hunter and Ponies" Races excepted), and is not nominated for any race other than hack race at time of start. Five per cent, will be deducted from the stakes towards defraying expenses. Jockeys must be clean and well dressed, or will be liable to a fine of £5 for infringement of this rule. All races to be ran nnder the Rales of Racing, aa adopted by tha Metropolitan Club of New Zealand. All horses to be ridden in colors ; same to accompany Acceptances and General Entries. No entry or nomination will be re ceived except upon these conditions : that all disputes, claims, and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom chey may appoint, and their decision upon .ill points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, except in cases of appeal provided for by the itules of Racing. Horses walking over will only receive 50 per cent, of the stakes. The necessary amount in cash must accompany all Nominations and Acceptances.
