DATE OF NOMINATIONS AND ACCEPTANCES. Nominations for all handicaps must be in the hands of the Secretary at the Vfaitara Hotel on Wednesday, October 13th not later than 9 p.m., accompanied I with the name, ige, pedigree, colors and performances of horse. Telegraph office closes at 5 p.m. Handicaps appear on Thursday, October 21st. Acceptances and general entries on Wednesday, Ostober 27th, except for Welter, which acceptances are due after the Clifton Stakc3. RULES AND REGULATIONS. Definition of a Hack. — A hack means a horso that has never won an advertised race of any description (Hack, Hunter and Ponies Races excepted), and is not nominated for any race other than hack race at time of Btart. Five per cent, will bo deducted from the stakes towards defraying expenses. Jockeys must be clean and well dressed, j or will be liable to a fine of £5 for infringement of this rule. All races to bo run under tho Rules of Racing, as adopted by the Metropolitan Club of New Zealand. All hordes to be ridden in colors ; same to accompany Acceptances and General Entries. , j No entry or nomination will be re ceived except upon these conditions : that all disputes, claims, and objections arising shall be decided by a majority of the Stewards present, or whom choy may appoint, and their decision upon all points connected with the carrying out of this programme shall be final, except in cases of appeal provided for by the ttules of Racing. Horses walking over will only receive 5# per cent, of the stakea. The necessary amount in cash must accompany all Nominations and Acceptances.
