Svonet, April 30. A record in long distance telegraphy was made oa Sunday, when the Sydnej officials communicated direct with thoso in Perth, the distance being 3140 miles. A splendid circuit was obtained. .At a meeting in tk« Town Hall, at.tended by 14,000 people, it was resolved to ask tha Government to appoint a Local Commissioner to re open the case 0! l)ean, the alleged wife poisoner.
