BRITISH TAKE POSSESSION OF NICARAGUA.
CIVIL OFFICIALS FLED. CORINTO PRACTICALLY DESERTED. IVER I-BKBB ASROOIAT/OH.I • New York, April 29.—The civil officials in Corinto lied after sacking the public buildings nnd taking the keys with them. Later information states that the British sailors and marines, with the exception of about 50, have re-embarked on board the warships, and the town is practically deserted. There i 3 con iderablo excitement in Managua, the capit.ilj in consequence of the abortive attempt to wreck the British consulate, and tho populace is clamouring for arms to oppose the British. The Nicaragua public has subscribed £20,000 to meet the indemnity demanded by the British Govornmont.
