A DRAWBACK.
The rain they have been having in France is reviving thingß nil round, and one of the things it has revived is an old story. Aa the rain was pelting down in the suburbs o£ Paris an old farmer took refuge in an omnibus, and sat down beside an old gentleman who Was just returning from Pero'la Chaise. "This is delightful," suid the old farmer. "A few showers inpre, and sver> thing will rise up from tha earth that we tnon>ht was dund." ' ' .>' '. '' Heaven forbid !" replied tho old gentleman, awaking' from' his tit of abstraction "My two'wivesan.i two mothers-ia-taw lie burkd tliero. May they rost in peace !"
