MR. NEWTON KIIsU'S WEEKLY AUCTION AND PROL JCE REPORT. At the Haymarlcet on Saturday pigs were plentiful and met with good demand, bidding being brisk throughout, and good prices realised. Slips made 53 6d to 8s Gd ; good alipß, lla Gel to 13s. Uoraes met with littlo enquiry, and very few wero aold, prices for hacks ranging from £2 10s to £4 ss. At tho mart fowls mado Is to la 8d ; chicks, 7d to lOd ; ducks, Is 5d to la Gd ; potatoes-, 33 to 4a ; whout, 3a 3d ; bran, 7s ; flour, 15a per tack ; sugar, 13a per bag of 551bs ; apples, 4s to 5s ; cheese, 5(1 ; ten, 13s; sundries and furniture mado rather low rate?. Fruit — There hna been liltlo doing during the week. Oranges are plentiful with little demand. Bananas scaice until arrival of next Island boat, Cattle.— At Stratford, on Tuesday, the yards were fairly well-filled with stock, liidding was slightly better than last time, especially for calves, and nearly o/ery pen waa cleared. Calves mado 24s lo 28d : yearlings to £2 ; 12 to 18-montbs sleora, £2 5s to £3; store cows, £3 to £3 5a ; 2year steers, £3 5a to £3 ds Gd ; 2 to 2£year ateers, £3 18a 6d ; cowa to £5. — At Waiwakaiho, on Thursday, very few cattle ■were advertised, but many came forward ; in fact the yards wore full, and some very gocl stuff among them. Bidding was much livelier than last sale, and better prices were realiaed. Calvea made 21a Gd to 28s ; yearlings, to 38a ; store cows, £3 to £3 10s; beifere, in calf, £3 16s; Bpringing, £4 to £5 2s, tbe latter being very good ; } bred Ayrshire fat cows, £4 4s; 2^ year steera, £3 18s 6d~; 3-year steera, £4 to i's 4b ; cowa and calvea, £3 7s 6d lo £i ; weedy, £1 18 a ; lamb?, 5s Gd to Ga Id; ewes, Ga Gd to 7a 8d; culls, 2d Gd — The clearing sa'e for the Messrs MeQueone, at Stratford, oa Wednesday, was a '' freeze " so far a 8 the auction was concerned. Afterwards I succeeded in quitting two of the farms ; 231 acrea to Mr R. Montgomerie. and 113 acrea to Mr John Pardon. The bullocks were all aoli afterwards and aome of the sheep. — I also Bold Mr Cramer's bakery and shop in Stratford to Mr Lacey.
