WAVERLEY RACES.

The Waverlej'-Waitotara meeting was held on Friday, and was well patronised. The greatest feature of the meeting was the large dividends paid on horees that on the fo:m guide had no show. Lady Maxwell), 1 ; Docility, 2. Div., £1 16s. Waverley - Waitotara Cup. — Pill (Sou-woater-Romp) 1; lonic, 2; War Cry, 3. Four othors Btarted. Div., £3 7s. Post Stakes.—Ngaruhoe, 1. Thirteen others Btarted. Div., £18 12s St Patricks Handicap. — Waipiro (Dalesman-Lady May), 1; Countess, 2 ; Goldenlock, 3. Nine others started. Div., £18 6b. Forced Handicap.—Javelin, 1. Div, £18 odd. The protest against Stockboy in the Scurry Hack Race at Manawatu has been sustained, and the stakes awarded to the second horse (Hippodaraia), the Stewards being satisfied that the so-called Stockboy is Badger, a horse which ran at Auckland, New Plymouth, Oeo, and othor places, and has already been disqualified. The action iegarding Lyons (owner) and Lee (trainer) of Stockboy was deferred, pending the reßult of an action which Lyons intends bringing against Simson, of Opunake, from whom, it is alleged, ho bought tho horse.
