The climate interferes with the training of the New Zealand Athletic .Team, and it is expected they will be thrown out of the meeting at Stamford. While undergoing training, duff, manager of the team, sustained a slight strain of the leg.

Mr Dibbs is. collecting data respecting inebriate asylums, also information relating the working of the Public Health Act in Englond. He is much annoyed at Sir H. REDMOND'S GO TO AMERICA.
The brothers Redmond have sailed for America. It is stated that the Parnellites are determined to fight every scat with the seceders. Mr William Redmond will be a candidate for Cork. LIABILITIES OF NEW ORIENTAL BANK. The liabilities of the New Oriental Bunk amount to seven and a half million exclusive of paid up capital. The directors hope to be able to pay the debt in full, and resuscitate affairs if the depositors accept 5 per cent, preference shares. The withdrawal of a million deposits from Scotland and the Eastern branches of London from the Oriental Bank took place within the last year. EJIIN PASHA'S DEATH. Zanzibar, June 9. News has reached here confirming the information received some days ago that Emm Pasha was dead. VENEZUELA REBELLION. Mormons intend to revive polygamy in their new settlement in Northern Mexico. REVOLT IN VENEZUELA. Washington, June 8. , Despatches from Venezuela state that the commander of the insurgents reports having captured the Comarabo concealed batteries at the mouth of JRicoa, and routed the Government forces, several hundreds of whom were killed. A large number of prisoners and great quantities of munitions of war were also seized. PRESIDENCY OF AMERICA. Washington, June 9. McKinley's election to Chairmanship of the Convention indicates he will likely secure nomination for the Presidency if the first ballot for Harrison fails.
