A certain zealous preacher happened to miss a constant anditor from his congregation. Schists had already made some depredations in the fold which caused the minister some anxiety.- " What keeps our friend, Farmer B— — , away from us?" he asked his clerk ; " I have not seen him these three weeks, I hope it is not socinianis'jo that keeps him away." " No, sir," replied the clerk, "it is something worse than tlat." " Worse than Bocinianism? God forbid it should be deism!" " No, sir, its worse than that." •' I trust it is not atheism ?" " No, sir, it is worse than that." "Worse than atheism?'' " Yes, sir ;it is bhkumatism." The preacher heaved a deep sigh of relief, went over to his secretaire, and produced a bottle. " That," he said to the clerk "is the far-famed St. Jacobs oil. Take it to Farmer B — , and tell him to use it as directed, and he will soon be rid of biß rheurr>atißm."
St Jacobs oil is on 6ale at all chemists and druggists, and should be used in all cases of sprains, bruises, and nerve complaintß Bucb as neuralgia, rheumatism, &c, &c.
