The Koch lymph has been administered to an inmate of the Costley Home, Auckland, a young man named John Burke, 27 years of age, who is suffering from consumption. When Lord Onslow visited the Home, Burke asked him to get the lymph for him. The Governor' mentioned - the subject to the Chairman of the Hospital atd Charitable Aid Board, Mr Aitkin, who was with him, and as a result of. negotiations the tuberculine was 'administered on Sunday by Mr Davy, assisted by Dr King. As Burke, however, is in the last stages of consumption, it is, considered hopeless to expect any beneficial effect from the tuberduline. Telegrams up to Wednesday ahowß that under the treatment Burke is improving in condition. Refering to the results of the Egmont Farmers' Union during the past twelve months the Wanganui Herald says :—: — '* We scarcely tbink such a statement is justified on the figures ieithe first balancesheet of that body.
