Such as scientific apparatus of all kinds (microscopes, telescopes, eleotrio batteiiea, &o.), specimens of animals, vegetables, and minerals, ancient books, newspapers and coins, antique and ourioue furniture, china and glass, old and curious engravings, &o. Industry and Manufactures— (Bkotiok C.) comprising fnrnitnre, sashes, doors mouldings, carvings, tarnery, stone and marble work, tiles and pottery, tannery, boots and shoes, Baddlery and harness, baeketware, plumbing work, tinware, ■ nil kinds of engineering, foundry and smiths 1 work, agricultural and dairying appliances, printing in all its br^nchet, coach and cart work, coopering, musical instrumentp, painting and decorating, preserved meats, preserved and dried fruits ; jams, jellies, &c; wines, ales, cordials, aerated waters, ; pickles, sauces, confectionery, bricks and I oement, &c, &o. Raw Materials. — Agricultural anp General Produced—Section D. Such as — Wool, Flax, Fungus, , Honey, i Cl»eeee, Bacoo, Butter. Soap, Flour, Oatmeal, and Search (in small samples), Grain, Seed, Roots, Fruit, and all garden | and field produce, Timber, Stone, Co&l, ! Ores, Lime, &c, &c. I Home Industry.— (Section E). This department is open for articles made by amateurs or persons following occupations not connected with exhibits, and will comprise —Fancy and Plain Knitting, Crochet, Netting, Silk and Woo] Work, Plain „ and Fancy Sewing, Ornamental Leather Work, Paintings, Drawings &c, of any description, Jams, Jellies, Preserved or Dried Fruits, Wines, Pickles, Sauces &c, Models, Carving, Fret-workj &0., &c, or any, o^her articles of amateur 'manufacture. Exhibits of sohool work will be grouped to compare results. Certificates of merit will be awatded in thin department for — Best piece of Plain Knitting, in wool, or Cotton, or both, best piece of Fancy Knitting in Wool, or Cotton, or both, best piece of Crochet Work in Wool, or Ootton, or both, best piece of Netting in Wool, or Cotton, or both, greatest variety ol Fancy Work done by Exhibitor, best piece of Plain Sewing donb entirely by band by girls under the age of sixteen, best piece of darning done entirely by hand by girjs under the age of sixteen, beßt piece of Fancy Work done entirely by hand by girld under the age of sixteen, beet . specimens of Jams, Jellies, Preserved or Dried Fruits, Pickles, Sauces. Wince, Confectionery, &c, Models in Cardboard or Wood, Drawing, Fret-work, Carving, Tarnery, Leather, Shell, Cone and Seed Work, Sohool Work, &c, &c ' When work is done by a child, age to be stated and certified to, and age and quality will be taken into consideration. AWARDS OF MJIRIT, Awards will be given in the fprmof Certificates for Meritorious Exhibits in the Manufactures, Raw Material^nd Produce, and Rome Industry Departments. '■ A programme for exhibits in the Agricultural Department will shortly be iesaer*, and a small charge will be made for exhibits, and money prizes awarded. Exhibits to be classified as "Saleable" and For Exhibit only.'* All loan or private exhibits free. Exhibits for sale must bo specially notified, with prices attached, %id applications for space must be accompanied by a fee for commission at the following rates; —"AH manufactured gopdf ' (whether for "sale or exhibit only) excepting scientific appliances and jeweUary, 2£ pet tent, on the stated value, with an additional 2| per cent if sold. All articles in the Home Industry section ".marhe. for sola " 2£ per cent, on iliie '"feinted value (vitb a minimum of 1b), and «n additional 2} per cent, it sold. All Jewellery, Scientific Appliances and Workq of An marked for sale" 1 per oent. on the stated value, and an additional 4 'per oent if sold. All exhibits subject to the approval of the Committee, and all sales to be effected through the Secretary. Exhibitors may rely on the utmont care being taken of everything entrusted to the Committee. Night watchmen will be employed, and insurance' against fire effected. Exhibits will be carried free on the New Zealand Railways, and by the Union and Northern SB. Company's steamers. Exhibits must be addressed " The . Secretary of Exhibition, New Plymouth,' and legibly mar Red "For exhibit at the At; the Jubilee Exhibition, New Plymouth." All. goods to Be placed on train or steamer; and in the event of exhibits being sold or exchanged, the full railway -or steamer charges must be paid by exhibitor Returning exhibits will be conveyed free of charge, on the certificate of Secretary that no sale or exchange has been effected Written notice of intended exhibits, giving full particulars of name, nature, space required (floor or wall), class, and general information, oust be sent to the Seoretaty, New Plymouth; or Messrs R. A. Adams, Patea; E. Burgess, Stratford; R, Stevens, Ingle wood; J. R. Olurk, Waitara; B. O. Robbins, tiawera; C. R. Bay ley, Normanby; G. A. Hurley, , Manaia; J. tl. Newman, Opunake ; and Town Clerk, Wanganoi, as early as practicable, and not later tban the 28th February, 1891, foi the purpose of being, catalogued, excepting, agricultural and general produce, foi wbicb notice must' be sent not later than March 23rd, 1891; and exhibits delivered in New Plymouth, preceded by advice notes, not later than 7 days before the opening, or by speoial arrangement with the Secretary. The Exhibition will be open daring Jubilee week, from the 30th March to the sth of April, 1891.
