REMAINS OF A MESSING MAN FOUND.

On Monday afternoon tho Wangamu police received information that the skeleton oC a man was found in the sand at high water murk near Putiki, being of short stature, footballer's boots and socks in good preservation, part of a pair of brown tweed striped trousers, a union check Crimean shirt, and braces. The body has since been identified as that of Alexander Macdonald, who Avas formerly a clerk in one of the offices on this coast. lie was last heard of at Turakina, where he had been to a football match, and left there for Wanganui on September 27th, 1889. The identification was proved by means of tho stockings and footballer's boots which were on the remains of the body found. An inquest is to be held.
