POST OFFICE HOLIDAYS.
The 25th instant and Ist January are close holidays, but on Boxing Day post offices will open in all branches from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. On the evenings of the 24th and 31st instant all receivers and posting-boxes will be cleared, and the contents disposed of. Mails usually despatched on the days on which Christmas and New Year's Day fall will be closed the preceding nights, at 7.30 o'clock. On Boxing Day the usual despatch of mails up to 10 a.m. will be made, and receivers and boxes cleared. On Boxing Day one complete delivery will be made by letter-carriers at 8 a.m. On the evenings of the 24th' and 31st instant a delivery of town letters over the counter will be made from 7 to 8 o'clock. Sunday hours will be observed in the private-box lobby on the 25th instant and Ist January next. Usual hours on Boxing Day. Telegraph Branch. — On Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and New Year's Day telegraph offices which open to the public on Sundays and holidays will be open from 9 to 10 a.m. and 7 to 8 p.m.
