STRIKE MATTERS.
London, December 1. An additional 4000 votes have been received by the Dockers' Union in favor of the surplus being devoted to relief purposes. The Mayor of Bristol lias agreed to act as arbitrator in the strike among the local dock men. The motion tabled by Burns at a meeting of the strikers' executive, that the balance in the hands of the Dockers' Union be applied for the purpose of maintaining their position and relieving distress lias been carried. It is asserted that Cardinal Manning approved of the motion. MR BRADLAUGFI GOKS ON A SEA VOYAGE. Mr Bradlaugh ha 3 left England on a sea voyage for the benefit of his health. TtTE IRISH IN AUSTRALIA. Lord Gr. Hamilton expresses the opinion that the Irish would be dangerous to Australia if allowed to dominate. THE LONDON SCANDALS. Speaking at Lincoln on Saturday Mr H. Labouchere, M.P., in referring to the alleged scandal at a West End Club, insisted that the police should thoroughly sift the charges. THE COPPER COMPANIES. The copper companies have abandoned the action taken to compel the directors of the Comptoir D'Escompte and the Societe des Metaux of Paris to fulfil their contracts. NEW COLONIAL COMPANIES. ! The prospectus of the Colonial Securities Trust Agency, with a capital of £1,000,000 has been issued, and a company for the exploration of unknown parts of Australia has been registered, with a capital of £100,000. IMPERIAL FEDERATION. London, December 2. Lord Salisbury ridicules the idea promulgated by Lord Rosebery in favor of British Imperial federation on the basis of American federation. ANOTHER COLLIERY EXPLOSION. Berlin, December 2. Fourteen persons have been killed, and many injured, by a colliery explosion at Bochuin, Westphalia. FURTHER NEWS FROH STANLEY. Zanzibar, December 1. Major Wissman has received letters from Stanley stating that the supplies forwarded by him have been received, and intimating that in all jirobability lie would reach Bagamayo on Wednesday next. ORONIN MURDER CASE. Chicago, December 1. The Judge, in his summing up to the jury in the case against those charged with the murder of Dr. Cronin, denounced the Clan-na-Grael for inducing j the police to suppress information respecting the discovery of Dr. Cronin's knives.
