RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
TFiliS n.\V. Tuesday, Decembor 3.— Before C. E. ■Rawson, Esq., K.M. Judgment SuMMONsi;s.-OHicial Assignee in estate of Charles Lloyd v. 8. 11. Barriball. Defendant, who did not appear, was proved able to pay, and judgment was entered against him, £1 to be paid on December 7th, balance in fourteen days ; in default, 7 days' imprisonment. — J. B. Lawson (collector of rates to Taranaki County Council) v. S. H. Barriball. Claim, £2 9h 2d. Defendant paid 15s into Court. There was no appearance of defendant, who was ordered to pay £1 19s 2d., being balance, with costs, on or before January 10th, 1890 ; in default 7 days' imprisonment.—Newton King v. Joseph Tyrrell. Claim, £7 3s. Mr Hughes for plaintiff. Judgment by default, with costs 13s. Application for Costs.— Mr Standish applied for costs in four cases brought by the Public Trustee, in which the amounts of claims had been paid into Court too late to save costs. Application granted in each case.
