ANNUAL MEETING TARANAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.
THIS XXA.Y. Tin-: annual meeting of the Taranaki County Council was held at noon on Wednesday, /'resent: Messrs. Price, J. Elliot, W. Bayly, Adlam, and McGregor. Elect>nn of Chairman. —Mr J. Elliot moved, " That Mr R. Price be re-elected chairman." He spoke in terms of praise of the way Mr Price had carried out his duties during the year just ended. —Mr McGregor seconded tho motion, which, on being put, was carried nein. con. —Mr Price then took the chair, and briefly returned thanks for the honor conferred on him. EUction of Representatives. —The election of representatives for the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board was then proceeded with. The Chairman, and Messrs. J. Elliot, McGregor, and A. Bayly were reappointed, on the motion of Mr W. Bayi.y. The meeting then closed, and an adjonrne:? ordiuary meeting was held then. The amended report of the Committee with reference to the tollgate tariff was read. A discussion ensued on the report, which was fiually adopted. The amendments made were slight. —The tollgatcs will come into force on January Ist, 1890. This was all the business.
