New Zealand securities are quoted as follows:—s per cent. 10-40 loan, 105£ ; 4J per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 99^ ; 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 106£, Market rate of discount is 4 per cent.; bank rate of dis- - count is now 5 per cent. Total reserve in the Bank of England iv notes and bullion is now £11,970,000, beiug an increase of £64,000 ou last week. Proportion of reserve to liabilities is 41( pr cent, being an increase on last week of 1J per cent. BBBADSTCBJft. —Wheat market: Australian wheat, ex-watehouse, 39s 3J per 480 lbs ; bnsi ess quiet. N.Z. lodk berried wbeat, 37s 9d per 4961 b ; &us raliah flour, 26s 6d ; New Zealand flour, 24s 6d. Flax. —Nev Zealand flax is in slow demand. Goot and meiium, £28 to £30 per ton. BUTTER.—New Zealand butter worth 70s to 90s per cwt, Quotations only nomiaal. N. Z, ebee c, 4Ss the cwt. Fbozen Mbat. — New Zealand frozen mutton, prime quality, 5d ; lamb, 8d per lb.; froeen beef, hind quarters, 4|l ; fore quarters, 3}d per lb. Wool. —Prices are firmer.
