Sydney, September 21. Some of the orew of the barqueutine Heotor, from Port Sardino, New Hebrides, who had been detained for misbehaviour, plunged into the sea to swim out as the vessel was sailing, and were fired at from the shore, but without effeot. Those on board the ve&ael returned tho firo, but no casualties are reported. It is not known Whether the firing party ashore were whites or natives. A fierce thunderstorm passed over the oity to-day. Wimble's warehouse and the National Bank were both ■trnok by lightning. The flag poles on the top of the latter building were shattered, but no serious injury was done. During the storm an immense quantity of rain fell, and considerable damage was done to the stores in the low-lyiug buildings by the flood water.
