Captain Edwin wired to-day at 12.45 p.m.: — " Every indication of heavy gale after 12 hours from now, between west and south and south-east, wi'.'i muoh colder weather, very heavy sea, end gloss further rise.

'P.'ie s.s. Oreti arrived from Onshunga this morning. She is anchored to the main buoy, where she is lying quite snug. She has on board 1000 puriri sleepers for tho Railway Department. The Gairloch also arrived tbiß morning very early, and after landing passengers, etc., in time for the southern' train, proceeded .to Wftitara,
