MORE POLITICS. TO THE EDITOR.
Sib,— l think your Stratford correspondent should refrain from writing political letters just now. It is bad form, and will not help the Colonel a little bit. ColoHel Trimble is opposed to all progress, as he himßslf admits, and the district cannot afford to send down a man who will not attempt to help it forward. Ab for Mr. Marohunt'a friends saying that it lies between Marchant and Trimble, the thing i 8 absurd, because they all regard it 88 a moral certainty for their map. Comparisons are not desirable, so I will only say that in the matter of youth, energy, natural ability, education, and absence of self-seeking, Maichant is certainly not second to any of his opponents. flis recent letter to tbe Hawera Star on tbe subject of re-metalling the Mountain Road is ihe only practical solution of that problem that has yet been suggested, and I am confident that if Marchant is sent to Parliament he will render to the whole of Taranaki the same good service that he has always rendered to his own district. — I am, &0., Vote fob Mabohaht.
