TARANAKI CHEESE.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —We feel it our duty to correct the following statement made by your own correspondent at Manutahi re Taranaki cheese: —"The local article is nowhere; Taranaki is out in the cold." We can state that for the last eighteen months we have sold nothing but Turanaki cheese, made by Messrs. Olson anil Prioe ; and as to quality, it is superior to any imported article, and for Avhicli wo can always command a higher price. In mentioning those two makers' names, we wish it understood that they are not the only first-class makers here: but having done business only with them, we cannot champion any other maker.—We are, &c, Emvn. L. llumi'Hriks & Son. New Plymouth, April 8, 1882. [Mr. Wade, of Mangorei, who took a prize at the Canterbury Exhibition of 1873, and other makers of cheese in the district, have obtained a name for the superior quality of their cheese, and they can dispose of all they make through the local storekeepers, notwithstanding the importation of Canterbury cheese. —Ed. T.IL]
