HOMESTRADS FOR THE FUTURE IRON SMELTERS.
TO TIIE EDITOR.
gl Rf — I hopo the buyers of land at Courtney's Pitzroy Township will, immediately thoy become possessed of it, Bub-divide tho allotments into small seotions, so tbat the workmen at the iron works may have a chance to get small sections to build cottages on, as it is most desirable that the large number of men who will shortly be working there should be able to do so. I haro positive reason to believe that the works will be in full awing in a short tirao. Remember, the Government are spending £400,000 a year on railway plant, and that the last smelting has put it past all doubfc that we can make the plant and rolling-stock for the railways in the Colony. The smelling of iron sand cannot now be kept back, and the workmen must have cottages to live in. Bear that in mind, buyers of land at Fitzroy.— T am, &c, B. M. Smith, Practical Metallurgist.
