TO THE BPHORij i.i i Sir, — In reply to," An Ejector l',mtodays News, I 'challenge liini or any other person in &ew Plymouth to say that I ever solioitod a single vote for Mr. Kelly, or offered any opposition to Mr. Fookos. I claim the right to have said that I would sooner vote for Mr. Kelly ;tliaii) the other oandidate; beyond this I have in no way interfered. In March last I telegraphed to the Colonial Secretary for a supply of electoral forms, to! enable electors to get on the roll, some pf which I sent to Inglowood andi elsewhere, and I asked Mr., Fookes to get, the town pedple supplied with forms. He answered, that : if, they did not choose to do these things themselves, he would ' not bother ' about them) and that' there wer<3 plenty of persons Jie did not wish to see upon the roll at all.— l am, &c., ' ' ' l ' J.
