COMMERCIAL.
London, June 3.— The following unpublished cablegram is from the New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company :-— " The wool sales have olosed firmly. Up to date, 200,000 bales have been sold j 8,000 bi»»cs sent to the manufacturing districts ; »ud 4,000 bales withdrawn. Daring the pac* sales, greasy has advanced a penny. Since the close of last sales, the market for combing, olothing, and washed wools has been firmer. In lambs' wool, the market has been easier. For cross-bred combing washed wools there has been a decline of twopence per lb. sinoe the close of the last sales, and greasy a deoline of a penny. The tallow and wheat market firm ; leather market fiat. The wool sales olosed on the 31st May. The competition was animated ; the foreign especially. The prices firm as compared with the average during the sales. Greasy three halfpence above March sales ; lambs wool (half bred) 1 twopence lower ; best washed scoured fleeces a shade better, medium lower, rest unohanged. France and Germany were the principal foreign buyers. The total taken for export 100,000 bales. The next wool sales ooramonce on the 10th July. Adelaide wheat, new arrivals 635. per quarter.
