WANGANUI— JuIy 28.

Mr, S. Coleman's first monthly sale at Marton was held on Wednesday, 19th July, when a large and miscellaneous assortment of furniture, fancy goods, and agricultural implements were offered and quitted at satisfactory prices, there being a large attendance of country buyers. Only a few cattle or sheep were penned, owing to the severity of the weather, but the several lots sold realised fair rates. Young cows sold at £3 per he&d, milch cows £3 15s. to £4 10s., and store sheep ss. Town sections near the Government buildings sold at £12 10s.
