Sir,— The Directors of the Patea Flax Dressing Company not having sent a reply to the letter enclosing resolutions passed at the meeting of Patea shareholders, I have been requested by them to forward a copy of the resolutions to you for publication so that the New Plymouth shareholders may take action iv the matter, and save the land from being taken possession of by the Government. — I remain, &0., W. Dale, jun., was voted to the chair, and read the notice calling the meeting, when the following resolutions were carried : — 1. " That this meeting consider that the present Directors have not fulfilled their duties in a proper manner, and therefore request them to resign." 2. " That this meeting consider that the shareholders residing in tho Patea District should have been informed as to the state of the Company by the Directors, by sending a copy of the balance sheet to the Company's manager here." 3. " That this meeting consider that the Directors are letting t'.ie property of the Company go to ruin when, for a small expense, it might be looked after." 4. "That, according to the articles of association, the ordinary general meetings of the Company shall be held on the first Monday in January and July. This meeting, therefore, wishes to know by what authority an ordinary general meeting was held on the 6th of June." 5. " That this meeting consider it their duty to inform the Directors, who may not be aware of the fact, that unless a certain quantity of flax is dressed before December next, that the Government can take possession of the land ; and as they have already granted twelve months' extension of time, no more can be expected from them." 7. " That the chairman of this meeting forward the resolutions to the chairman of Directors, and ask for an immediate reply."
