ORARI BRIDGE.

SCHOOL PRIZE-GIVING. On Wednesday afternoon last, the annual prize-giving ceremony was held at Orari Bridge School, when a large number of parents and friends assembled, and a very enjoyable lime was spent. Mr Pra-tt, chairman of the School Committee, congratulated Mr F. E. Holdgate, the teacher, on the very satisfactory results of the year’s work, and called on the children to give three cheers for their teacher. Following is the prize list: — gl cl vi.—Dorothy Butcher, proficiency prize. Std. V.—William Johnston 1, Millicent Pratt 2. Ned Burke, Jim South, Nellie Lyons and Gordon Pratt. Std. IV. —Joyce Ford 1, Neil Lyons 2, Charles Johnston. Std. lll.—Pat Lyons 1, Hector South 2. Std. IL —Jim Ivey. P. Classes.—Alan Ford. Ernest Dutcher. Special Prizes. —Sewing: Nellie Lyons (donated by Mr Morrison), Joyce Ford (donated by Mr Holdgate), Dorothy Butcher (donated by Mrs Lyons). Millicent Pratt (donated by Mr Lack). During the afternoon the children had a. very happy time with races. ice creams, and lolly scrambles. Afternoon tea was provided. During the latter part of the afternoon, heavy rain fell, which caused an adjournment to the school.
