PRESENTATION..
A very pleasant function took place in the Koval .Hotel, Tcmuka, on rhursdav afternoon, when Air Harry Lee, the popular proprietor, was /presented with a handsome cut glass liquer stand in a silver mounted oak frame. Air -J. Oates', : 6n behalf of the stall, made : the'’presentation, and referred to the plbasant ' Mht»oni?hip that had invariably existed between 31 r Leo and the whole' of * the stall, and the regret they all felt at (his retirement.. Mr -Oates wished the re* cipient long life, prosperity, .and happiness. Mr Lee, in responding, »aid the presentation had taken him completely by surprise, and he felt unable to say all he would like to say for the ■beautiful present he had just received, and which, he Svould treasure amongst his most highly ( (prized possessions. He recognised the very kindly feeling which had prompted theigiEt, and said it would always be a great pleasure to think of tiie .friendly associations which had been maintained between ids stall and himself, and which their present would make a pleasant reminder. lie was sure they .would render the same loyal services to his success.>r that, they bad rendered to him, and lie was sure his successor would equally appreciate those «orA( the conclusion of Air Lee’s remarks. a further surprise awaited him, wlun 1 1ff opportunity was taken ol presenting' Miss Lee with an afternoon tea set '.as a slight token of the v.-ry high regard and esteem in which sh" is held by the stair.
