SAD DEATH OF A CHILD.
i ! A little boy named Harold Bernard | Taylor, 2 years of age, son of Mr E. ' Taylor, died at Howlands, Clanboboye } hh luesday, under rather painful cir- , ctuiislances. Two of Mr Taylor’s children wandered' down the yard to where the sheep are dipped There was a depth of water and dip about .3 feet G inches deep, and one of the children threw a stick into the Water. The deceased tried to get the stick, and fell in. His screams attracted the mother, who rushed down and pulled the child out. She at once administered an emetic, and for a ■time Ihe child was very sick, it seemed to recover, however, and went to sleep, limit after sleeping for two hours it woke up, and at onec went into convulsions. Dr Davies was sent for, but the child died shortly before his arrival. On Wednesday the Coroner, Mr V. G. Day, hold an inquest, and after hearing the evidence of the mother, returned a verdict of death from an irritant poison. Much sympathy is felt with the, parents in their sudden bereavement.
