School Committees.

MILFORD. The above committee held their monthly meeting on Monday, 22nd inst. Present— Messrs C. Pye (chairman), J. Brown, G. Higinbottom, P. Part, and G. Cartwright. HEAD MASTER'S REPORT. The head master’s report was read as follows: — “I have the honor to report that the average attendance for the past three weeks is 50. Six boys and four girls have been removed from the roll, and three boys and three girls have been enrolled. The number now on the roll is 33 boys and 30 girls; total, 63. The attendance has been very poor on account of whooping cough. I hand you herewith £2 2s 5d for books.— I have, etc., C. F. Schmedes.” CORRESPONDENCE. From the Board of Education, requesting the committee to nominate two qualified persons to be members of the Board of Education. From Mr T. Cheyne Farnie, intimating that he would be a candidate for a seat on the Board of Education and asking the committee’s support. GENERAL, The committee desire to thank those ladies and gentlemen who gave donations to the school prize fund, also special prizes. The accounts were handed in, showing receipts to be £7 11s, expenditure £8 Gs, debit balance 15s. jt was resolved to break up the school for harvest holidays on February 2nd for four weeks, and to record the committees vote in favour of Mr Farnie to &■ seat on the Board of Education.
