GERALDINE FLOWER SHOW.

TO THE EDITOR. Sib, —Kindly allow me to make a few remarks in regard to the manner in which exhibits were indiscriminately taken away from the Hall last Thursday night at the close of the show by people whom they did not belong to. Considering the- great trouble, and in many cases inconvenience, that exhibitors are put to in preparing their exhibits for the show, to help to make it a success, it is really too bad that people who have no claim whatever to them should appropriate them. If people did not bring exhibits to the show there would be no show at ail, and to say the leist it is most discouraging that they should at the close of the exhibition have them stolen. A lady who was unavoidably absent when the show was closed, suffered considerable loss, by having the table decorations—flowers, vases, and cloth—taken. Others I heard complaining about the manner in which young girls especially, who are quite old enough to know better, indulge in the mean, miserable practice of stealing fruit through the wire netting on the end of hat pins, which they could not reach with their fingers. Surely the public in Geraldine can put a stop to this, and especially those, who have the interests of the Association at heart. I noticed the local constable in the Hall, but I’m sure its is absolutely impossible for him—in such a crowd as there was last Thursday night—to cope with those who go there, presumably with the object of appropriating other people’s goods. The committee. I’m sure, also do all in their power to suppress the evils and after all their hard work in preparing and working up the show, it must be very disheartening ta them to hear of exhibitors, in whose hands the attractiveness of the show mainly depends, losing their exhibits in the way mentioned. My own loss was practically small, as I only lost a flower stand, which may have been taken by mistake. The officers of the show apparently spare no efforts to make the show a success, and I do hope that on future occasions we shall not hear of exhibitors suffering any loss by people wilfully taking what they know they have no right to. Trusting that these few lines may have good effect, and that all who take an interest in the Association will on future occasions assist in protecting the property of exhibitors, I am, etc.. Regret.
