(Per Mail Steamer.) Auckland, Jan. IS. The United Sates War Department will send more troops to tho Phillipinos immediately. Aquiualdo is said to be only a day in advance of the pursuing troops, and his wife died from tho hardship of the flight. An official communication of the capture of Aquinaldo and the end of the rebellion remains to bo verified. New York barely escaped a severe financial panic owing to a drain of specie for England.
